[Bachelor Degree] Holland Scholarship at Leiden University, Netherlands

Leiden University, founded in the city of Leiden, is the oldest university in the Netherlands. The university was founded in 1575 by William, Prince of Orange, leader of the Dutch Revolt in the Eighty Years' War. The Dutch Royal Family and Leiden University have a close association: Queen Juliana, Queen Beatrix and King Willem-Alexander are former students. The university came into particular prominence during the Dutch Golden Age, when scholars from around Europe were attracted to the Dutch Republic due to its climate of intellectual tolerance and Leiden's international reputation. During this time Leiden was home to such figures as René Descartes, Rembrandt, Christiaan Huygens, Hugo Grotius, Baruch Spinoza and Baron d'Holbach.
Leiden University has seven faculties (six in Leiden and one in The Hague) and over 50 departments. The university is a member of the Coimbra Group, the Europaeum and the League of European Research Universities. Leiden University houses more than 40 national and international research institutes.

The Holland Scholarship at Leiden University is intended for talented international students who would like to follow an English-taught Bachelor’s programme.

Benefit:
One-off payment of € 5,000 – which you will receive after arrival in The Netherlands in your first year of studies.

Note: The Holland Scholarship is not a full scholarship. Non-EEA Holland Scholarship recipients must still submit ‘proof of sufficient funds’ for their student visa/residence permit application.

  • You have never studied at a Dutch university or a Dutch university of applied sciences. 
  • You have completed your pre-university education outside The Netherlands.

How To Apply:
  • Compose a letter of motivation (max. 500 words) specifically for the Holland Scholarship. In your letter, explain why you are a talented student, taking into account both your academic achievements and relevant extra-curricular activities (e.g. voluntary work).
    Note: there is no need to describe your financial situation, as financial need is not a selection criteria for the Holland Scholarship.
  • Before 1 February, submit an online application for admission for one of the above-mentioned Bachelor’s progammes at Leiden University.
  • Indicate in your online application that you are applying for the Holland Scholarship and upload your scholarship motivation letter where indicated.

Brunei Darussalam Scholarship on Enhancing Professional Communication Skills for ASEAN 2020 (Fully Funded)


University Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and UBD-FPT Global Centre, Da Nang, Vietnam are pleased to announce that applications for the Brunei Darussalam Scholarship on Enhancing Professional Communication Skills for ASEAN 2020 are now open.

UBD-FPT Global Centre is a collaborative project between Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and FPT University (FPTU) aimed at improving English proficiency and professional communication skills in the region. The Centre aims to be the leading English Language training centre in the ASEAN region.

Benefit:
The Scholarship is sponsored by the Government of Brunei Darussalam and includes the following:
  • Programme Fees;
  • A return economy class airfare from an ASEAN country’s main city to Da Nang, Vietnam;

Programme Offered:
  • Programme 1: Professional Communications in English
    This programme helps participants improve their professional communication in English. The training focuses on specific areas of communication in English: writing e-mails, speaking in meetings and interviews; giving presentations, and networking. This programme can help participants achieve increased confidence and professional goals.   
  • Programme 2: Intensive English Proficiency Course
    This programme is designed to train participants in the four core skills of listening, reading, writing and speaking. Throughout the programme, participants will engage in different tasks which include practices especially in the areas of reading and vocabulary development.

Requirement:

  • Applications are open to citizens of ASEAN.
  • Applicants must be within the age range of 20 – 35 years.
  • Applicants must possess a minimum qualification of post-secondary school certificate.
  • Applicants must be certified to be medically fit to undertake the scholarship and to study in UBD-FPT Global Centre in Da Nang, Vietnam by a qualified medical practitioner who is registered with any Government Authorities prior to arrival in Da Nang, Vietnam. All costs incurred in obtaining this certification are to be borne by the applicants.

Enhancing Professional Communication Skills for ASEAN: Beasiswa Pelatihan Bahasa Inggris


Teman-teman hendak meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris secara intensif? Ikuti saja program Enhancing Professional Communication Skills for ASEAN (PCSS) yang merupakan kolaborasi Universiti Brunei Darussalam dan FPT University di Vietnam. Program beasiswa ini didanai oleh Pemerintah Brunei Darussalam. Program yang berdurasi 1,5 bulan ini diselenggarakan tiga kali selama tahun 2020, yakni bulan Maret, Juli, dan Oktober 2020. Ada dua jenis pelatihan yang berikan: Professional Communications in English (PCE) dan Intensive English Proficiency Course (IEPC) tergantung tingkat penguasaan Bahasa Inggris pesertanya pada saat mendaftar.

[Master Degree] The Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation 2020/2021 (For Indonesia), Japan (Fully Funded)


The Okazaki Kaheita International Scholarship Foundation (The Foundation) was established in March 1990 to contribute to world peace and development by fostering people from the People's Republic of China and other countries in Asia. This foundation strives to promote mutual understanding and international exchange as well as to pay homage to and immortalize the spirit of Okazaki Kaheita, a man who worked for mutual understanding, peace, and world friendship.

In order to promote friendship between Japan and Asian countries and to further the personal development of people in these countries, the foundation provides scholarships to students from Asian countries who wish to study in graduate schools in Japan.

The applicant shall be a recommended by their university in Indonesia which is appointed by the foundation.

Requirement:
Anyone who supports the objectives of the foundation to build his/her own country and to  promote international friendship, is outstanding in personality and ability, in sound health and is deemed to be in need of financial assistance for educational expenses, and who meets the following qualifications:
  • Be a citizen of Indonesia
  • Be a resident of Indonesia on April 1, 2020.
  • Be born after April 2, 1996.
  • Academic Qualifications:
  • Must have graduated from a university appointed by our foundation prior to March 31, 2021 and be able to obtain a letter of recommendation from his/her supervising professor. The applicants are also required to have completed a total of 16 years of education at recognized educational facilities.
  • Major:
    • The field of study selected by the applicant must be the same as his/her major at the undergraduate level. (Preferably, the applicant should have selected the university of his/her choice and the supervising professor under whom he/her wishes to pursue graduate studies.)
    • The applicant’s proposed research theme should be suitable for study at the gduate level  in a Japanese university.
  • Language ability:
    • Must be able to understand graduate level lectures taught in Japanese or English. Selected applicants who have not yet learned Japanese are required to attend a Japanese language course at a language school for 6 months (approximately 500 hours)prior to coming to Japan.
    • Furthermore, the selected applicant shall be required to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test held annually by the Japan Foundation.
  • Others:
    • The foundation deems it most suitable that the selected applicant come to Japan alone(without his/her family)to study under our program.
    • (ⅰ) The student must live alone(without his/her family)for the first year in Japan. (ⅱ)After one year it is possible for the selected student to live with his/her family if He / she wished to do so, but the foundation cannot give any assistance for his/her family.
Note: It is generally very hard for students from abroad to live and study in Japan with his/her family, as the student will meet many difficulties such as the high cost of living, housing problems and language difficulty. 
 
How to Apply:
The applicant must complete the official application form distributed through the contact person at each university. The form must be completed in accordance with the "Instructions for Filling in the Application Form." Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

  • Health certificate
    A health certificate issued by a doctor clearly stating that the applicant is fit for an extended period of study abroad. The certificate should be written on the prescribed form and completed in English
  • Recommendation from supervising professor stating the academic performance, personality and future prospects of the applicant
  • Recommendation from employer at place of employment (Only for applicants currently employed)

Program beasiswa ini berlaku untuk jenjang Diploma, S1, maupun S2/Master. Kanazawa University is a leading university on the Sea of Japan coast, the University has contributed greatly to Japanese higher education and academic research since it was founded in 1949.

One of the University’s charms lies in being able to study in Kanazawa, a city rich in history and traditional culture. Kanazawa has cultivated a respected intellectual profile since the time of the Kaga fiefdom (1598 – 1867). Japan Student Service Organization (JASSO) Scholarship
Up to 20 participants in each program belonging to the institutions that have concluded a Memorandum on Student Exchange with Kanazawa University and having the nationality of the countries or regions that have diplomatic relations with Japan will be paid a monthly stipend, if accepted as a JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship grantee. 
(Note: Students from Taiwan and Palestine are also considered eligible. Students who have Japanese citizenship are NOT eligible.)

Requirement:

Applicants must satisfy all of the following requirements.They must:
  • be currently enrolled in the undergraduate program at the partner universities of Kanazawa University, 
  • be in good academic standing,
  • have a clear purpose for study abroad as well as full intention to devote themselves to academic and other cultural activities,
  • go back to their home institutions and continue their education after finishing the program, 
  • be able to obtain appropriate visa status in Japan,
  • be proficient in English (CEFR B2 level) and have possibly studied the Japanese language for more than one semester. 
How to Apply:
  • Step 1: Fill out the application form and prepare additional documents below.
    • Official or unofficial transcript from the applicant’s home institution (1 copy, PDF format)
    • ID photo (1 copy, 3cm x 4cm, JPEG or other digital format)
    • Photocopy of the ID page of the applicant’s passport (1 copy, PDF format)
    • Proof of Japanese or English Proficiency (or a letter of recommendation issued by a specialist in language education) (1 copy, PDF format)
  • Step 2: Submit the completed application materials to the international office of the home institution.
    Note that Kanazawa University only accepts application through the applicant’s home institution. Application by an individual student will not be processed.
  • Step 3: The applicant’s home institution will send his/her application materials to Kanazawa University by deadline.
  • Application materials are available online at the School of International Education website (http://kuglobal.w3.kanazawa-u.ac.jp/eg/sie/).
